What we can tell you

Wells Fargo Rewards points behave like the other transferable currencies covered here: issued by a bank, not tied to any airline until moved, and worth whatever you eventually turn them into.

The reference value at the top of this page is the highest of the six transferable currencies in our data. Treat that with the same caution as any average - it describes a distribution of outcomes across many bookings, and a high average does not make a poor individual redemption good.

What we have not verified

We hold no confirmed transfer routes for this program. As with Citi, that reflects the state of our verification work rather than a claim that no partners exist.

We are not going to reconstruct a partner list from memory or from other websites. Transfer ratios are acted on irreversibly, and a confidently wrong one does real damage. When we have checked Wells Fargo's own page, the routes will appear in the table above with the date they were confirmed.

What still works

So does checking a specific award. Cents per point needs only the cash fare, the points price and the fees - it is indifferent to which program issued the points. If you are trying to decide whether a particular booking is worth making, that calculation is available to you right now and is usually the one that settles it.

A worked example

Suppose a $450 fare is also available for 28,000 miles plus $18 in fees. The arithmetic does not depend on which currency funded the miles.

($450.00 cash − $18.00 award fees) ÷ 28,000 points × 100 = 1.54 cents per point

A modest result. Not a mistake if you wanted the trip and preferred to keep the cash, but not the kind of redemption worth rearranging plans for either.

Against the current reference value of 2.38 cents, that is about 65% of typical - what we label weak relative value. Those bands are our own editorial rules, not an industry standard.

Before you transfer

Check the minimum and the increment before you commit to an amount - the number you wanted may not be a valid transfer. And remember that transfers are not always instant, so never transfer against a deadline assuming they will be. The transfer calculator flags all three.
